Well, your old uncle John is in business. Sort of. I’ve finally gotten a computer, you understand, and I am now both willing and able to actually update my web site occasionally. It’s the truth.
The news is as follows: I have been working out with Russ Dahler and Patrick from the Brotherhood of the Black Squirrel, doing some old country covers mostly. Some Jerry Jeff Walker, Blaze Foley, that sort of thing. The three of us are calling ourselves The Los Hermanos Brothers. We did a show over at the Amocat a while ago, and we’re probably going to do it again. I helped out Mr. Hagedorn with a couple of songs for the Happy Vanishing. The Happy Vanishing project is coming out sooner than later, under the title Sweet Dreams and Flying Machines. I’ll link to his website as soon as I remember what it is. And the Hag and I are also getting another My Own Invention project put together, with some help from the aforementioned Russ Dahler Show. I’m looking forward in particular to a Mark Lanegan medley we’re going to do.
I’m sure I’ll start updating this more frequently now that I’ve got a whole computer all my own. I know I’ve got some old Hitchhikers stuff that I need to add to the music library, and I’ll probably be recording some more of my own stuff eventually. More later.
JW.
